Dee: I love to gift. I prefer to give items that I have made. Y’all know I love to knit but sometimes, that process just takes more time than I have. Lately I have really enjoyed fashioning bracelets. They are fun to wear, they are pretty quick, relatively speaking, and usually one size will fit most which is a bonus. I really should learn to work ahead and create a jewelry shop of sorts to “shop” when a gifting occasion arises rather than my current process of looking at Pinterest for inspiration and then at my supplies on hand and trying to find a match. Take a peek at what I have created recently .
And now…back to the knitting. I’m currently contemplating my next hat of the month project as I knit on my Colorful Day Cowl using a Sophie’s Toes Magic Ball. It’s the perfect travel or Netflix binge project. I don’t mind all the ends since I weave as I go. Happy Knitting!
Dee: It’s suffice to say that my stranded addiction got the better of me last month and I created not one but five hats. So, technically, I am ahead of the game but since the majority of these hats came from a single pattern, the Heartgate Hat, I’m only counting those as one. So by my accounting I am current with my entry for March being a Seattle Seahawks hat knit using the 12th Fan Hat pattern that I knit for an old high school friend who supports that team however misguided his alliances may lay.
Knitting the rival hat got me thinking that I haven’t knit myself a Green Bay Packers hat. I quickly did a search on Ravelry and was horrified at the search results. I’ll more than likely have to create my own pattern or just knit something in Packers colors. In case you missed it, here’s a picture of my final Heartgate Hat, using the navy and peach shades of Shepherd Worsted. I’m not finished with this pattern yet however. It’s such a pleasant knit that I’ll be casting it on again sometime in the future, of that I am sure…
I know I thought I’d be knitting my Big Peaks Kathryn Alexander hat kit and I still might but as I familiarized myself with the pattern I wanted to change something. I really want the top of the hat to be as beautiful as the sides so I am thinking I need another mini skein of a gold or yellow to make me smile. Stay tuned and happy knitting!
