Pattern: Faverolle by Cirilia Rose
Yarn: Berroco Vintage

Monica: After finishing a fingering weight sweater I decided I wanted a faster-knit so I dug out this yarn from the stash. This yarn was an impulse buy from Stitches Midwest many years ago because it was deeply discounted and I have no willpower. I didn’t have a project in mind for it at all until I found this pattern book on sale. Do you sense a theme here?

Very comfy sweater

I only had enough yarn to knit the smallest size so I just knit that because I could always give it to my sister if it didn’t fit. Honestly I didn’t even swatch or check my gauge and just started knitting. I was that antsy to start this. I can’t wait to wear this when it is cooler as it is a very comfy sweater.

In other news:

Went to a yarn shop and fell in love with this woven scarf

I went to a yarn shop yesterday and the only thing I bought was that woven scarf above. Can you believe it? I felt a little guilty buying a scarf when I could’ve made one but I’m not taking up weaving.

Monica: Last week my family flew to the Philippines to put Mom’s ashes in a Buddhist temple. I will post more on that later. We got back on Saturday and I have horrible jet lag. I am functioning on 2 hours of sleep right now hoping that I can make it go away faster if I stick to my usual schedule.

I thought I’d share some pictures of my Mom and Dad that my uncle found:

mom wedding picture
I can’t decide if I look more like my Dad or Mom.

Pictures from their honeymoon
They looked happy.

Sitting on a bench
At least Mom did.

Sitting in the grass
Dad was being all serious.
